Carly's Kids

Parker Munson Snyder owes his existence to a deal his mother Carly Tenney made with his aunt Rosanna. Rosanna informed Carly that she would provide a $50 million trust fund for her child, provided Carly was married to the father and that father was not Mike Kasnoff. Eventually she gave it a deadline, and the baby had to be born before 1999. Carly had fallen in love with Jack Snyder but due to an injury, he would not be able to get her pregnant in time. So feeling pressured, Carly seduced lonely Detective Hal Munson and convinced him to marry her. When she didn’t seem to be getting pregnant Carlysought the help of Dr. John Dixon with artificial insemination. Her marriage to Hal ended soon, as he realized she was still in love with Jack.  Carly then married John when she learned he had used his own sperm for the insemination and she believed he was the father.  John was looking for a replacement for the baby he had lost.  Miraculously Carly gave birth to a baby boy on New Year's Eve, mere minutes before the deadline ended. Parker Joe was born in the Milltown home of Jack Snyder. John named the baby Parker after his mother's maiden name. Before long the truth came out that Hal was the father after all and Carly lost custody to Hal temporarily.  In time Carly regained custody of Parker.   Late in 2007 Jack Snyder officially adopted Parker as his son.  Parker and Carly have always been very close even if at times the relationship was rocky.  As angry as Parker sometimes is with Carly he still loves her very much.

 

JJ Larrabee is the adopted son of Carly and Jack.  Tragedy struck in 2004 when Jack was presumed dead when his car went over a bridge. Everyone except Parker thought Jack had died.  Parker's faith was contagious and Carly came to believe it too. With Parker’s help, Carly was able to locate Jack and eventually the pair reunited when Jack's memory returned. While Jack was suffering with amnesia he had become close with a nurse, Julia Larrabee and her son JJ (James Joseph.)  He thought of JJ as his own son.  After reuniting with Carly he stayed close to JJ.  A few months later however Julia was killed by her ex-husband.  JJ came to live with the Snyders and eventually Carly and Jack adopted him and think of JJ as their own son.  JJ is one of Carly's staunchest supporters and instead of being angry that she had lied about dying, he was thrilled that she was going to live.  When Carly left with Simon, JJ always believed she would return and even bought her a plant for Mother's Day despite her not being there.  Even with her flaws, he sees the good in Carly and loves her very much.



 Sage Snyder is the biological daughter of Carly and Jack.  In the fall of 2002, Carly was finally able to marry her soul mate, Jack Snyder. Unfortunately that marriage was not to last long and Jack left Carly. What drove them apart was the one night stand Carly had with Mike Kasnoff, the night before their wedding.  Jack had called the wedding off and too much champagne led Carly to seek comfort from Mike.   Eventually Jack realized he wanted to be with Carly anyhow and would love the child just as much even if the baby wasn’t his.  Carly headed to Montana to be alone and Jack followed her and was there to deliver their daughter Sage.  Just as Carly and Jack reunited, the divorce papers arrived.  In July of 2003, Jack and Carly remarried in a beautiful ceremony in Montana.  Carly gave Jack the news that Sage was his daughter following the ceremony.  Like JJ, Sage always sees the good in Carly, forgives her mistakes and loves her very much.  It's her dream to have her parents reunite. 

 

Carly's Sisters

Rosanna Cabot and Carly share the same mother.  Carly's mother left when Carly was a baby and she married the wealthy Alexander Cabot, who she had a daughter with; Rosanna.  Although her mother had died earlier, Carly went to the funeral for Alexander but Rosanna thought they were cousins. In 1995 Carly came to Oakdale believing that she was owed part of the Cabot fortune.  The relationship between the sisters was quite rocky because Carly decided she also wanted Mike Kasnoff.  Eventually Carly became pregnant with Mike's child but went into premature labor and lost the baby dues to an accident in which Rosanna blamed herself.  To ease her guilt, Rosanna created the deal that if Carly had a baby with anyone except Mike by the end of 1998, she would give the baby a trust fund of $50 million as long as Carly was married to the father.  She wanted to be sure Carly was kept from Mike!  Both Carly and Rosanna left town but Carly later returned and made good on that bet, bringing us Parker.

Rosanna returned to Oakdale in 2002 with the intention of taking Parker when Carly was missing as well as Hal thanks to James Stenbeck as we later learned.  Thankfully Carly was rescued following her again at the spa James had sent her to and she recovered.  The Rosanna/Carly relationship remained rocky for some time thanks in no small part to the new relationship Rosanna had with Craig Montgomery and the previous one Carly had with him.  They eventually became very sloe so it was very painful to Carly when Craig ran Rosanna off the road in 2005 and it put Rosanna in a coma looking like she would never recover.  When this happened, Carly was determined to take care of the baby that Rosanna had just adopted and she hoped that one day Rosanna would be able to care for him.  Rosanna did briefly come out of the coma in 2007 but sadly went back into the coma in 2008 from which she may never awaken again. 


 Gwen Norbeck had no idea when she met Carly that they both shared the same father; Ray Tenney.  It was the summer of 2005 and all she knew was Carly had her baby and she wanted him back.  Gwen was an unwed teenage mother with no family support who agreed to give up her baby for adoption to Rosanna and Craig but all of that changed when Rosanna went into a coma and Craig was imprisoned for causing it.  Carly was determined to take care of the baby for Rosanna.  At the same time Carly's past as a child was coming back to haunt her.  A woman named Iris Dumbrowski claimed that she had been involved with Ray Tenney and that Carly was responsible for the death of her "beautiful baby boy."  Eventually the truth came out and not only was the baby not dead, but it was a girl and it was Gwen!

Once they found out they were sisters it took time but eventually they started to get past their rocky beginning.  It took a long time for Gwen to learn to trust Carly, especially when it was Carly who had to turn Gwen's baby over to Hal and Dusty when they learned the baby really belonged to Jennifer Munson and that Gwen's baby had died at birth.  Gwen later married her boyfriend and Parker's half-bother, Will Munson.  Because they were so young most people fought their relationship but Carly was supportive of it.  In time they became very close and it saddened Carly when Gwen and Will decided to leave town in the spring of 2008.

Molly Conlon was responsible for introducing Carly to Jack Snyder.  In her desire to spend time to get closer to Holden Snyder, Molly arranged a bogus trip to Montana to break some horses for Carly and Jack Snyder went along with Holden.  Carly and Jack met and the rest was history. Carly and Molly are both schemers and dreamers and weren't afraid to bend the rules to help each other out.  It was Molly who managed to get the paternity tests changed for Carly when Parker was born.  Sometimes their schemes worked and sometimes they didn't but they were always there for each other and were very close.  Their relationship was tested when Carly slept with Mike Kasnoff the night before Carly was supposed to marry Jack.  Mike and Molly had been involved but were apart at that time, but it still hurt Molly.  Molly was able to put aside her feelings though and come to Montana for Carly's marriage to Jack.  Carly and Molly repaired their relationship but Mike and Molly never did. 

Their relationship was to suffer an irreparable blow in the summer of 2004.  Molly had been threatened harm by a man named Starziak.  For her safety she was staying with Carly and Jack.  While they were out one evening, he showed up at their home.  Fortunately Jack got there in time before he could harm Molly.  A freaked out Molly insister Jack not wait for backup to take him to the station.  He did just that despite Carly's pleas to wait for help.  Jack and Starziak struggled in the car and went off the bridge.  Jack was presumed dead and Carly blamed Molly for that.  Molly ended up leaving town and has never returned nor has their relationship ever been repaired.
